I feel like the luckiest teacher in first grade.  I am so excited to spend the 2010 school year with 20 beautiful students.  Your first grade experience will be a wonderful one.  Lunch  time is @ 10:50 Am.  A daily menu can be found on the school board website: www.browardschools.com

Homework posted Mondays for the week.  The weekly updates and reminders will be posted via this blog.   Again a BIG welcome to first grade!  Knowledge is Power.

First Grade is very different from preschool or kindergarten.  There is no rest time.  Students  will have 20 minutes recess time daily, fruit or vegetable snacks provided by the school, to promote healthy eaters.
The learning material will be focused on the following: writing letters and words, reading, counting, identifying colors and shapes.  They will be able to check-out a book from the library weekly.

Specials: Music, PE, Science & Media

Weekly Procedures

Home work is due daily.  Parents are expected to sign student planners daily. A weekly folder with classwork, tests and assignments go home on Fridays; sign & return Mondays.
